Janina Rajakangas Project is making contemporary dance with professional and non-professional performers. Entirely Moved | Kaikki liikkuu ry is the organization producing the work.
Janina Rajakangas is a choreographer, performer and teacher based in Helsinki. She has been offered grants for artistic work since 2017 by Arts Promotion Centre Finland and Finnish Cultural Foundation. Janina has explored themes such as the sexualization of teenage girls (Venus 2022), inclusivity as choreography (Dancer 2023), the agency women have over their bodies and the place of aging women in nordic societies (Look me in the eyes 2025). At the moment she reflects the human impact on other species with children (Floor is lava 2025).
Janina’s practice centers around making the dancing body undo rules given to the everyday body. She has found out that moving the body in poetic ways in different constellations of people breaks down expectations of what we are meant to do together. The doing brings to practice a poetry that in itself holds the key to the dance in the making.
Janina Rajakangas Projects works have been shown at and supported by: Zodiak Centre for New Dance, CODA Oslo International Dance Festival, Dance House Helsinki, Kiasma Theatre, The Place Theatre, Moving in November Festival, and Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival among others.
Entirely Moved | Kaikki Liikkuu ry is an association founded in 2021, based in Helsinki. The association produces the works and artistic processes of the Janina Rajakangas Project and choreographer Veli Lehtovaara, and acts as a responsible employer for the members of its working groups. Rajakangas and Lehtovaara work as a creative duo, planning and implementing the association’s activities. The association also acts as a production partner, carefully selected, for works by other artists.
The association’s activities are led by a board comprising Veli Lehtovaara, Janina Rajakangas and Ulrika Vilke. Lisa Kalkowski acts as the project-specific producer. Our activities are made possible by our network of partners and funding from a variety of sources. The aim of our work is to create and strengthen the conditions for the dance arts in particular, and the performing arts more generally, within the Finnish arts scene.
Through its ambitious audience engagement work, the association promotes the visibility, availability and accessibility of this art form, as well as its renewal. Through its activities, the association aims to strengthen the social standing and significance of dance.
